According to Zecharia Sitchin, the first landing of the Anunnaki on Earth occurred at Eridu, in the region later known as Sumer (southern Mesopotamia).

The Significance

Eridu was chosen as the first landing site because: - It was in the fertile plain of the E.Din - It provided access to water from the Euphrates and the Persian Gulf - It was geographically suited for a base of operations

The First Settlement

The Anunnaki built their first Earth base at Eridu, which included: - A landing field or spaceport - Living quarters - A control center - The Apsu β€” a sacred water source
