Spaceports

Sumerian name: DUR.AN.KI (𒆍𒀭𒆠) β€” "Bond Heaven-Earth"

Zecharia Sitchin proposed that the Anunnaki maintained a network of spaceports and landing facilities on Earth. These facilities formed the basis for some of the most impressive ancient structures and sacred sites.

The Primary Spaceport: Sinai

The main Anunnaki spaceport was located in the Sinai Peninsula, according to Sitchin. The central plateau of Sinai provided:

  • A flat, elevated landing area
  • Remote location far from human settlements
  • Clear approach paths marked by natural landmarks
  • Strategic position between Africa and Asia

The Launch Pad: Baalbek

The megalithic platform at Baalbek in Lebanon was, in Sitchin's reading, the primary launch pad for rocketships. Its massive stone blocks (the "trilithon," each weighing approximately 800 tons) formed a platform capable of withstanding the forces of a spacecraft launch.

The Navigation Beacon: Giza

The Great Pyramid served as a navigation beacon for approaching spacecraft. Its original polished limestone casing would have made it visible from great distances, and its precise alignment to true north provided a reference point.

The Landing Corridor

Sitchin identified a precise alignment of sites forming a "landing corridor":

Site Function
Ararat Northern approach landmark
Jerusalem Mount of the Crossing β€” guidance waypoint
Baalbek Launch platform
Giza Primary navigation beacon
Sinai Main spaceport landing field

The Guidances

The DUR.AN.KI ("Bond Heaven-Earth") were the guidance systems and communication devices that connected the spaceports with Nibiru. Each major Anunnaki settlement had a DUR.AN.KI installation.

The Destruction of the Spaceport

According to Sitchin, the spaceport at Sippar was destroyed in a nuclear strike in 2024 BCE, ending the Anunnaki's ability to travel between Earth and Nibiru. This led to the "flight of the gods" and the end of direct Anunnaki involvement in human affairs.
